The Adventures of Mrs Twinkle (Book One) – from pages 38 and 39

Mrs Twinkle was so busy giving Simon information about the reef
animals that she forgot where she was going and oops! bumped
right into a giant clam.

“Ooosh whoosh,” said the clam, through his large air vent,
and promptly closed his shells.

“Look out where you’re going, mate,” shouted Mr Clam. “I’m king of the reef here.”

“Oops.  Sorry Mr Clam,” replied Simon, stepping aside.
Luckily Mrs Twinkle retrieved her star beam just as the clam’
s shell closed tight.

“That was a narrow escape,” said Mrs Twinkle. “How
horrible to get my star beam caught in Mr Clam’s jaws.” The clam calmed down.

“I meant no harm,” he said, “it’s just
a reaction to protect myself – just keep your eyes open and watch
where you’re going on the reef. There are plenty of prickly and
dangerous beings around here.”

Mrs Twinkle Takes Simon to Yellowstone National Park (Book Two) -  from page 4

There was a tap on the window. Startled Simon sat up and gasped. A bright yellow beam of light was knocking on the window calling him by name. “Simon, Simon wake up! It is time for an adventure. I am taking you to Yellowstone National Park in USA.”

Simon rubbed his eyes in disbelief. Was this a dream, or was Mrs Twinkle really back again? He knew very well the long, sparkling, yellow star beam of Mrs Twinkle. That was the beam he clung onto as Mrs Twinkle swooshed him through the air up the coast of Australia.

So it wasn’t a dream. Mrs Twinkle was for real. Simon jumped out of bed and called out to her, “Coming Mrs Twinkle, but I will be three minutes getting ready.”

Simon knew what to expect this time. He was going to meet and chat to new animals and possibly different types of people.

Hmm. I better leave Mum and Dad a short note in case I do not come back by daylight, Simon thought to himself.

Dear Mum and Dad. Have gone on an adventure with Mrs Twinkle. See you soon. Love Simon.

Mrs Twinkle, New Mexico Here We Come (Book Three) – from pages 11 and 12

Simon and Mrs Twinkle picked a table near the wall. There were bunches of chillies hanging everywhere from the ceiling. They ordered burritos and enchiladas. After the first bite Mrs Twinkle jumped up and blew out of her mouth sending food flying everywhere. Yellow starbeams flashed all around. The restaurant looked as though it was on fire, just like Mrs Twinkle’s face!

“Oh that meal is sooooo hot. I need more water please!” Mrs Twinkle exclaimed.

“You are not used to hot food?” Simon politely asked.

“Where I come from, we have gentle dishes of food!” replied Mrs Twinkle.
